OOZY Coffee iced americano, takeout cup
₩2,000 (~$1.37) — OOZY Coffee iced americano, takeout cup

Barely bitter, more toasted nut than burnt, and cold enough that the first mouthful is mostly ice. The iced cup is ₩2,000, the number on the window says 1,800, and both of those are true at the same time.

What you get

The sleeve is printed like watermelon rind. Green stripes, a slice of watermelon down one side, wrapped around a cup of plain black americano with the ice packed up to the domed lid. ₩2,000.

The shop paints a different number on its window. TAKE OUT 아메리카노 1800원, in figures you can read from the far side of the street. That one is the hot cup. On the menu board the americano line reads 1.8 / 2.0, and in July nobody is ordering hot, so 2,000 is what a coffee actually costs here. Decaf is another 1,000 on top. A full liter, listed as 아메리터, is ₩3,300, which is exactly what Mega’s liter cost me.

The rest of that board tells you what kind of business this is. Cold brew, a grid of lattes, fruit teas, frappes, and out on the pavement a second board that is nothing but soft serve, fifteen of them. Under the shop name it says SOMETHING BEYOND COFFEE, which is either a slogan or a confession. The small print on the left of the sign is a phone number, and it isn’t for customers: 가맹문의, franchise inquiries. The right corner gives this branch a number, #431.

So the ₩2,000 americano isn’t where the money is. It’s the thing that gets you to the counter. What’s in the cup is low on bitterness with a toasted-nut thing underneath, nothing you’d sit down and take notes over. Nobody is sitting down anyway. The cup is built to be carried, which is why the sleeve is the most designed thing about it.

Where OOZY Coffee, Seoul, South Korea
Date July 2026
Best for Carrying something cold around a hot city, a caffeine top-up between subway stops, and anyone who counts what coffee costs them per week.
Would I buy again? Yes, when I’m already walking past it. This is a cup for carrying rather than sitting with, and that’s how I drank it.

Tip: The number on the window is the hot cup. Iced is 200 won more and decaf another 1,000 on top of that, so the ₩2,000 you walked in with can quietly turn into ₩3,000 before you’ve finished ordering.

FAQ

How much is an iced americano at OOZY Coffee?

₩2,000 in July 2026, at the Sinchon branch. The hot one is ₩1,800, decaf adds ₩1,000, and the one liter is ₩3,300. Prices move between branches and promotions, so the window is the thing to read.

What does it taste like?

Light on bitterness with a toasted-nut note under it, and served very cold. It’s made for takeaway and drunk on the move — a cold black coffee in a paper cup, not a cafe visit.

Is there a bigger size?

Yes. The board lists 아메리터, one liter, at ₩3,300. That’s the same price Mega’s one liter came to, so the liter is where the arithmetic starts to matter if you’re drinking coffee all afternoon.

This price is as of July 25, 2026 (date of writing) and may vary by store.
