What you get

Saewookkang (‘shrimp chips’) is about as national as a Korean snack gets — it launched back in 1971. The old ad jingle, roughly ‘your hand keeps reaching for it,’ basically became how people describe eating the thing: you can’t stop. It’s the default cheap drinking snack; set it next to soju or beer and it just works, so much so that a bare-bones drinking spread in a Korean movie is almost always soju plus a bag of these. In 2020 it even rode a viral meme (singer Rain’s ‘Gang’) to a sales jump.
